Is Carving The Leg Of Lamb A Headache For You

Is Carving The Leg Of Lamb A Headache For You

We often don’t buy certain meat cuts because we have trouble in carving them up after we roast them in our ovens. A leg of a lamb is really quite easy to slice up whether or not you’d be using those electric carvers or your sharp knives.

The leg of a lamb is really easy to carve and below is a list of some really good suggestions on how you could even make it easier to slice up this certain meat part. It also has certain suggestions about your presentation and how you can make your slices more appealing for your guests.

Invest & Get Those Really Good Cutting Boards

Most people try carving their meats on the serving dish instead of on cutting boards. And there are some that actually carve their meats on cutting boards but on small-sized cutting boards too which are really not enough.

Before you attempt to slice any kind of meat, do invest and get yourself a really good board which will protect your work surfaces and catch all that lovely juice from your roast too. It’ll make carving your meat easier as well as less messier.

Also make sure that you choose a board which can be washed as well as sanitized using some warm soapy water and don’t select those boards that are made of wood because these boards can have cracks which might harbor bad bacteria later on. Good boards can last you a lifetime and is such a good investment to use for your kitchen.

The Proper Position When Carving

Place your lamb onto the board and make sure its shanks are facing your right side and make sure that its leaner portion faces you. Hold your meat using a big fork for use in carving then slice around 3-4 slices of thin meat cuts and make sure that they face you too.

Next, your lamb must be turned to the position where it was recently cut then make slices again.

Carving Spiral Slices Of Meat

In order to achieve this just hold the leg of your lamb using your big fork then make cuts right down to its bone using electric carvers or those meat carvers. Slices must be around 1/4-inch thick each. When cutting these slices just run your knife parallel to your meat’s bone.

Make An Excellent Presentation For Your Meat

The ways that you present your meat is important along with how thick you cut it and how uniform your slices are. Arrange your meat slices all over the sides of your serving dish. Be sure to get a really attractive dish for serving because this would also be a factor too.

After arranging your lamb slices, put a glass bowl that has mint jelly onto your serving dish’ middle portion to be served together with your lamb slices so your lamb will have a good pair and will appear more tastier together with your jelly because it enhances the taste of your lamb
